Ma'ase takes a different approach
Ma'ase Organization was established in 2004, with the aim of Promoting the value of volunteerism and spearheading voluntary frameworks for young people in Israel in a professional and egalitarian manner. Ma'ase emphasizes recruiting youngsters aged 18-21 from "weakened" backgrounds to volunteering frameworks and developing a professional, supportive infrastructure to help the volunteers achieve optimal performance.

Ma'ase has taken a new, innovative approach. This organization works with young people from the periphery, based on principles of demanding achievement and realizing capabilities, as opposed to the widely accepted therapeutic, stigmatizing and weakening approach (especially toward youth from the periphery).

In 2009-10 Ma'ase operates 600 volunteers aged 18-21, 85%  are residents of marginalized communities, Most of these youth have not yet had the opportunity to take part in the volunteering and leadership cycle in Israel.
