IsraCorps was established in 2004 in order to create a significant change in the Israeli society using the framework of a yearlong volunteering service by young high school graduates.
IsraCorps recruits hundreds of 18 year old volunteers for various projects every year. Most of our volunteers were not previously given the opportunity to take part in the circle of volunteerism and leadership in Israel. IsraCorps establishes unique and optimal frameworks for the operation, training and guidance of the volunteers as part of the yearlong volunteer service in the periphery of Israel.
IsraCorps bases its activity on a unique outlook - a demand for ability, qualitative performance and development of personal responsibility – as an instrument for developing personal growth and local leadership.
This year (2008-2009) IsraCorps trains over 750 young volunteers from various backgrounds within the Israeli society – Jews, Arabs, orthodox and secular from both marginalized and strong communities. All of our volunteers take equal part in working for the community through different programs which focus on 3 main themes: professional volunteer work, training for leadership and education.
IsraCorps offers various unique programs: Eitan Youth Groups - for young people of the periphery, Achva Preparatory - for girls of the periphery as part of the National Service, Ofek Groups - for volunteers from the Arab Community, Gal Preparatory – a pre-army prep in Akko, and more…
IsraCorps has quickly become a well established center for volunteering and leadership. IsraCorps works to spread its values and achieve its goals by believing in the power of its actions to change perceptions and social consciousness and to create an infrastructure for an equal society.
